Article directories are a category of web directories and represent a form of SEO writing. Here, writers or companies are allowed to post articles that have a specific theme or topic on websites that take care of this sort of things. Article directories are also reffered to as "Ezines" or "Online magazines". Of course that there are certain standards that you must take into consideration when writing an article, in order for it to be SEO-friendly. For instance, the article should have at least 400-500 words and a key density of approximately 2-3%. Also, duplicate articles will be ereased and Google will significantly decrese your site`s rank if they find anything wrong with your articles. If you decide to write articles and submit them in order to gain some money, you should firstly read the SEO writing rules so that you will know how to make your ezines be on top of the result list when people are searching for something. There are sites where you can submit your articles for free but they have a maximum number of articles/day. Originality is one of the most important factors that influence readers whether they click on your site or not. DUe to the fact that plagiarism became a real problem nowadays, this has led to some websites to offer plagiarism detection programmes, so they will check the Internet for any duplicate of an article. The key density means the number of how many times one or more keywords repeat during an article. This is why they play an important role and consist in a range of words or phrases that are usually about 2 or 3 words each. As stated before, the ideal percentage when it comes to keyword density is around 2 or 3 percent, but it is fine as long as it`s up to 5% of the total content of the article. There are thousands of sites where writers or companies publish their articles, and they are usually paid for doing so according to the number of visits they have for each article, but it depends on the website that hosts your ezines. Moreover, some of them claim a certain comission for posting your articles whether they`re popular or not, so it`s up to you to make it more visible to potential readers. It is also important not only to attract visitors, but also make them want to come back on your site to read some more. Even Google says that you should not write for the search engine, but for your readers. Once you create an account and start posting articles, you can add a link to your website in your article and then use some social bookmaring websites in order for you to share your ezine article. Moreover, besides the payment for the number of visitors you have achieved per article, you can make money by adding pay-per-click ads from Adsense. It`s a way for both you and your advertising agents to make money easily. To sum up, you can use article directories if you love to write on different topics or even if you`re not such a good writer but you want to share your life with the others. It does take time, but in time the results will make it be worth it, it just needs patience.
