Information technology has transformed the way we live in today's world. Even two decades back, people could not imagine accessing almost any information at the click of a mouse. Today, that is possible due to the power of the internet, which is basically a huge network connecting innumerable computers across the globe.

As more and more people hook on to the Internet, the demand for online services, information, relevant content, bespoke scalable applications rises with each passing day. Demand for robust and reliable hardware is on the rise as well as more people access the internet simultaneously. Businesses have thus been almost automatically forced to invest on technology to stay ahead in the race; so much so that they have started using the internet as marketing tool. Let us see how that can be achieved more efficiently.

With the arrival of Google, things have changed a lot in the 'Searching Online' frontier. The Internet giant have made big strides in the search markets and have left a few of its famous rivals far behind in the market. Even Microsoft, who are not traditionally known for their search marketing offerings have been forced to join the race fearing a complete 'takeover' by Google on this front. Thus it becomes quite evident that these big companies are really taking the 'online boom' quite seriously.

A mere online presence is no more sufficient to stay ahead of the pack. To reach out to millions of customers it is extremely important to stay ahead when online customers search for services and products online. Thus in today's world Search Engine Optimization is becoming more and more important. The United Kingdom, along with USA, Germany and France has one of the biggest search volume markets in the world today. That market is growing all the time as more people endeavour to buy 'things' online.

Search Engine Optimization is a set of technical operation performed on a website to optimize it for certain keywords. This results in the website getting a top rank on search engines when searched for by customers. It is quite evident that Search Engine Optimization, which is abbreviated as SEO is a form of direct marketing on the Internet

In today's business world the relevance of SEO is becoming more and more. Businesses that are serious about marketing online can reap the benefits of it while the ones who just make up the numbers lags behind in the race for 'getting noticed online'.
