Reasons Why Your Website Was Black Balled or Banned by Google

Many people wonder about Google behaviours such as: Why your website was banned or penalized by Google? So I figured I would shed some light to these questions to help you further understand. There are too things that Google can do to your website, those are Penalize your website or Ban it all together from the Search Engines. Below is the difference between the two followed by some reasons this could happen to your website or blog.

Penalized Websites

Penalized sites are not banned from the search engines they are moreless slapped around like a user on IRC with a trout. Likely after receiving a Google slap your site will not rank for the keywords you want it to, this does not mean your website won't show up in the engines, you are just going to lose a lot of weight in regards to keywords or phrases your going after. Take John Chow for example he was slapped by Google years ago and was not even showing up for his own name in the Google Search. I beleive www.NotJohnChow.com was the #1 search result for his name. Clearly this should be enough to not want to be penalized by Google so try to avoid some of the things below.

Banned Websites

Banned websites will not rank for any keywords and they will not be indexed at all (You mite as well join some Mlm programs at this point and pimp yourself lol). So basically if you can not find your site indexed in the search engines your site has been BANNED!


Some Reasons why your website could be penalized or banned by google!

Cloaking - Never Cloak your website!. Cloaking is when a reader see's other pages and search engines see another page.

Duplicate Content - Duplicate content on multiple pages. It is not only bad to duplicate other peoples content, but you have to really watch that you don't have your own content duplicated on numerous pages. If you do go back and rewrite one of the pages, if you chanage the content about 30% it will not be flagged.

Keyword Stuffing - Do not just stuff your sites with keywords to gain more Seo. Write your content for your visitors not for Seo. It is okay to have a keyword density of 4-6% but make sure it is still readable to your visitors and makes sense. This means for every 100 words , 4-6 of the words will be a keyword your targeting.

Buying Links - Buying links from sites that are irrelevant will get you in trouble. Stay away from buying links unless your John Chow or Shoemoney and have the necessary traffic to say Screw Google.

Linking to Bad Sites - If you have a site about Marketing, do not go and link to sites about Ninja Turtles or Care bears. This is common sense people, you want to be linking to relevant sites as you will benefit the most and not get slapped.

Hidden Text / Links - Do not hide links on your website to gain Seo. For example some people with white backgrounds jam a bunch of keywords in white text througout their pages, this will get you banned from Google. You see many Free Website themes do this to get backlinks.
